 Food Category According to Energy: (Created by Dr. Li Liu based on her clinical insight and experience)

Cold Food:: food where growing environment is cool, lack of sunshine and dark. They carry a lot of Yin energy. It is suitable for people who has excess heat but should avoid among people who has too much cold or poor circulation

Example: Seafood like crab meat, lobster, squid, oyster, fish in deep sea or ocean, etc. Vegetable like bitter melon, dandelion, tofu, bitter taste greens, tomato, cucumber, etc. Fruit like watermelon, grape, banana, melons, tomatoes, pear, etc. Grain like whire rice, etc. Drinks like ice water, ice tea, etc.

Warm Food: food where growing environment is hot, lots of sunshine and bright. They carry a lot of yang energy. It is suitable for people with cold hands/cold feet or circulation and digestion issue.

Example: Spices like ginger, cinnamon, cardemon, nutmeg, clove, hot pepper, etc. Vegetable like sweet yam, yellow squash, pumpkin, red bell pepper, etc. Fruit like papaya, mango, pineapple, avocado, etc. Grain like millet, brown rice, etc. Drinks like hot water, hot tea, etc.

Fertile Diet Schedule:

Before Ovulation (help implantation): pineapple, mango, papaya, one egg a day, roe, pumpkin seed, sunflower seed, etc.

During or After Ovulation: Warm food like millet, brown rice, avoid cold food like Tofu, etc.

During Menstrual Cycle: Avoid beans, tomatoes or cold food, eat more warm food but not much spicy food.

Pregnancy: first 3 month of pregnancy follow warm food diet, absolutely to avoid seafood like crabmeat (cause miscarriage), susi or raw salad not much either. Middle of pregnancy should avoid barley to prevent amniotic fluid drainage. Late stage pregnancy should eat more cooling food like cucumber, etc.

Postpartum: due to loss of blood, body will feel chilly or cold, follow warm food diet and eat more ginger, chicken, seasame oil (help uterus constrict to remove placenta leftover), quail is ideal to heal wound and scar.

Forbidden Food in the following conditions:

Pain: avoid stimulants like coffee or caffeinated drinks, green tea, sweets like refined sugar, spicy food, MSG, etc.

Insomnia: avoid stimulants mentioned above

Diarrhea: avoid cold and sour taste food like tomato and cucumber, etc.

PMS or Menopause: avoid stimulants like coffee or spicy food

Food benefits your condition:

Pain and Spasm: papaya, mango, pineapple or food taste naturally sweet

High Cholesterol: Hawthorn Berry, Black Fungus (wood ear)

High Blood Sugar: Burdock

Insomnia: hot milk before sleep, chamomile tea

Gallbladder Stone: bittermelon, pear

Fever: watermelon

Cravings: pinenut

Weight Loss: cucumber, eggplant (eat cucumber looks like cucumber!)

Heartburn or Acid Reflux: raw potato juice, cardemon

High Blood Pressure: celery

Low Blood Pressure: black fungus (wood ear)

Cancer: Shitaki mushroom, burdock root, carnip, raw almond

Eye infection or Allergy: Chrythanthemum, Gouqizi (wolfberry), blueberry, etc.

Fatigue: cashew, eggs
