FAQ for Traditional Chinese Medicine:
Q:
What is acupuncture, does it hurt and how do you feel
?
A: Acupuncture is insertion of hair thin needles on selected points to free blocked energy. According to TCM, “people never feel pain when Qi flows freely; when the pain occurs, your Qi must be blocked.” Thanks to modern technology, acupuncture can be done in a painless way. Most people don’t feel anything when needles are in, other people feel like a mosquito bite.
During a session, clients may fall asleep, dream or
snores. Some clients may see colors or relax in a meditative state. After the first session, most people feel less pain and very
peaceful. Some
feel a little tired, but feel more energetic 1-2 days later.
Q: Is the needle clean and is there
needleless acupuncture?
A: In Georgia, only disposable needles can be used. For patients afraid of needles, TuiNa massage, cupping, Guasha, magnets or meridian balancing can be applied
as needleless acupuncture.
Q: What should I do before and after acupuncture?
A: For best results, avoid coffee, soda
or sweets before visit,
finish meals half an hour before session and wear loose clothes. After acupuncture, avoid aggressive physical activity,

like soup or cooked food.
